Meet Alexis

The Heart Behind Healistry

My name is Alexis, and Healistry was born from my own path of piecing myself back together, one poem, one painting, one moment of courage at a time.

I’ve always believed that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. It can happen in many ways, through art, community, and heartfelt conversations. Sometimes it’s found in a brushstroke, a lyric, a deep belly laugh, a moment of stillness, or sitting in a circle with people who truly see you.

I hold a Bachelor’s in Child and Family Studies and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also in training to become a Certified Community Health Worker, grounded in the belief that healing should be accessible, relational, and rooted in community.

But more than degrees, I carry life experiences that taught me how complex, tender, and sacred the healing journey is.

I served in the military for eight years and have worked closely with veterans and unhoused individuals, holding space for those often overlooked. Their stories shaped my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the deep human need for connection.

For a time, I offered support in traditional therapy spaces, but something was missing. I craved a space where therapy wasn’t just clinical, it was expressive, soulful, and human.

My mother’s love of watercolor painting became a reminder that healing can be soft, messy, layered, and still beautiful.

Healistry is, in many ways, a tribute to her.

It’s a place where creatives, feelers, thinkers, and survivors can gather to be affirmed, celebrated, and reminded that healing doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.

Healistry is my offering to the world: a collective of creativity, love, and connection. It’s where therapy, community, and expression meet.

And it’s here, waiting for you.
